Tehran, June 10, IRNA – Director General of the department for Africa-Middle East at the Finland Foreign Ministry Leena-Kaisa Mikkola said on Monday that Finland attaches importance to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The Finish envoy made the remarks in a meeting with the Chairman of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh where both sides called for expansion of cooperation between the two countries. 


In the meeting, Senior Iranian and Finish officials called for improvement of relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields. 


Finland attaches importance to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and respects the deal as an international treaty, she said adding that Finland stance on JCPOA is different from the US.  


Mikkola also called for promotion of parliamentary cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.


In the meantime, the Iranian lawmaker said that Tehran aims to protect its rights in line with the JCPOA and Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT).


He called for expansion of Iran-Finland cooperation in various fields and expressed the hope that the two countries' relations to further improve in various fields mainly at parliamentary cooperation.   


The MP referred to Iran's efforts to counter terrorism and drug trafficking and said that Iran measures have always been useful to Europe.
