Kamalvandi made the remarks in an interview with Russian Sputnik News Agency.
Answering a question concerning the latest developments in the field of nuclear cooperation between the two countries, Kamalvandi said Russia has always supported Iran's stances during the nuclear negotiations.
He added that atomic cooperation between the two countries is in an excellent level and continues in different fields.
In addition to constructing one 1,000-megawatt power plant which is currently operational, two other 1,000-megawatt power plants are under construction, said the official.
The spokesman said in the field of production of sustainable isotopes and nuclear fuel, the two countries have good cooperation and recently the two sides had negotiations concerning cooperation in small and medium size power plants.
He added that Vice-President and Head of AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi and Director General of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev had very useful and fruitful talks in Vienna on the sidelines of the 62nd meeting of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Rosatom had participated in construction of the first nuclear power plant in Bushehr and now is also participating in construction of the second and third units of the nuclear power plants.
Russia is also cooperating with Iran to change functional work of Fordow nuclear site in the context of the JCPOA.
Fordow facilities are located 32 km northeast of the Iranian city of Qom, near Fordow village.

Moscow, Sept 20, IRNA – Spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi announced on Thursday that Iran and Russia will continue their cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
