Momeni said gas export to Iraq is only for use in power plants.
He added that another pipeline is active now to transmit gas to Baghdad power plant.
In case of Iraqi side readiness, it is possible to provide gas for industry and household purposes.
Momeni said that exporting natural gas to Oman and the United Arab Emirates are under consideration in NIGC and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
He added that work to transmit gas to 5,000 villages and 54 cities has started since a few days ago.
The official said currently from 84 big power plants in the country, 81 of them are using gas totally.

Ahvaz, May 6, IRNA – Director in National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) for gas transmission Saeed Momeni said on Sunday that gas pipeline for Basra, Iraq, power plant through Shalamche, Khuzestan province, is ready for use and by announcement of Iraqi side it will be launched soon.
