The inventor of the car, Alaeddin Qassemi, told IRNA in the unveiling ceremony of the water-consuming engine that it is quite an environment-friendly.
'In order to replace gasoline with water in this car there was no need to change the entire engine parts and the required changes are very little,' he added.
Qassemi, who is member of the National Center of Iranian Elites said that the fuel tank of the car is filled with 60 liters of water and it can run a 900 kilomter distance in ten hours time.
'This car's engine only produces water vapor and the car's air pollution is therefore zero,' he added.
He said that each liter of gasoline produces 29 mega jules of energy while one liter of water generates 96 mega jules.
He said that the invention has been internationally registered and today its patent is in the process of registration in Britain.
